100 Planning Specialists:

100 Planning Specialists The cottage plan was created by New York designer Marianne Cusato, one of more than 100 planning specialists brought to Biloxi in October of 2005 by the Governor's Commission on Recovery, Rebuilding, and Renewal. The out-of-town group was led by famed architect and planner Andres Duany and organized under the umbrella of the Congress for the New Urbanism. They joined with a like number of colleagues from the region for a week-long planning charrette called the Mississippi Renewal Forum. From that Forum came designs soon to be published by the New Urban Guild in a series of plan books also sponsored by James Hardie. Katrina Cottage 1 is the first to be built.

There are other specialists who do not perform surgery but whose work is closely allied with surgery: anesthesiologists, physical therapists, and specialists in prostheses (artificial limbs or body parts). Surgeons today are widening their horizons—devoting more time to scientific research in laboratories, and seeking new information in areas of metabolism, bacteriology, and biochemistry.

In the past, the attractive theatrical portraiture field has been cornered by perhaps a dozen specialists who knew exactly how to produce the required pictures. Now, this monopoly is broken because the old established specialists would be hard put to handle the present demand, and because theatrical pictures are needed now in every city all over the country wherever live television programs are originated.
