Architectural Resources Group was founded in 1980 with the belief that historic buildings play an important role in communities, creating places that have value and meaning. As a full-service architectural firm, ARG promotes an integrated design process involving architectural design, sustainability, and preservation. The firm believes that older buildings can coexist with contemporary uses in positive ways for both the user and community at large.

2005 : A Banner Year For SK&I SK&I Architectural Design Group, a residential and mixed-use architectural design firm, announced 2005 as a record year for industry awards, project completions and new project announcements. According to President, Sami Kirkdil, AIA "These results, especially the award recognition, reflect the high standards we set, and our commitment to understanding our clients' design needs.

The firm's staff of 50 includes architects, designers, planners, historians, and materials conservators who work together as a group. This integrated approach allows key design, preservation, and sustainability decisions to be integrated into the architectural design process. The goal is to further architecture through preservation which extends far beyond the firm's practice.
