Border Design Been:

Border Design Been The 2004-2005 James Stirling Lecture prize was awarded to Teddy Cruz of San Diego for "border design been Postcards: Chronicles from the Edge", a project advancing new urban strategies for the international border design been zone spanning San Diego and Tijuana. The jury unanimously agreed that Cruz's blend of theory and design, and his particular attention to the informal city were significant contemporary reflections on the way James Stirling approached urban design.

This fire surround was built following an original Thirties design. It has a strongly geometric feel with a taller piece of wood inset in the centre directly over the fireplace. The wood also extends to make a border design been for the hearth and matches the floorboards beautifully. The rest of the fireplace is tiled in fresh white and once more a geometric line pattern is incorporated. A thick border design been of black tiles frames the cast iron fire pit, adding plenty of definition.

Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, New York The Triennial looks at the breaking development and future horizons across the fields of design practice, from architecture, interiors, and landscape design to produce design, graphic design, and fashion.
