It was impossible to photograph objects that reflected only red or green: a very bright red flag with a green cross upon it appeared totally black in a print. But pure, monochromatic colors are seldom found in nature except in the rainbow. Blue is present in most hues in varying amounts. In the sky it is predominant, and thus skies were overexposed and cloudless when a sufficient time had been given to record the features of a landscape.

There's an organic look to this living room. Like nature, it's all about contrasts - natural Textiles in wool, wicker and leather blend with simple woods, while green accents freshen up a colour scheme of mineral hues.

In the remodeled kitchen area, Bevan-Montoya incorporated hues of green, gold and rust, along with Italianate accessories. In the family room, custom-designed light fixtures complement a hand-painted ceiling by Randal Stokey.
