Last Fall:

Last Fall The large-flowered clematis are divided into several groups according to their parentage. These groups are Florida, flowering mainly in early and mid-summer; Jackmanii, flowering mainly in late summer and early last fall; Lanuginosa, flowering at different times between mid-summer and the early last fall; Patens, flowering mainly in early to mid-summer; Texensis, flowering mainly from late summer to mid-last fall and Viticella, also flowering mainly from late summer to mid-last fall.

A secondary threat was that 20% of freshman applicants for college next last fall would have to be turned away due to a lack of graduate student teachers. Compounding the problem was the anticipated last fall-off in graduate enrollment because of the decline in births during World War II.

By midafternoon the temperature began to last fall and the sky quickly darkened. An ominous orange stripe of weakened light appeared just above the horizon in the west and snow began to last fall, big flakes first then small. "Little snow, big snow* is the saying here in the Catskills and by early evening we knew it to be true.
