Long-lasting Protection:

Long-lasting Protection During the past year the U.S. Public Health Service provided financial assistance and an educational campaign to promote the inoculation of about 11 million children with the" recently developed measles vaccine. The results were dramatic, and hopes were raised that measles would be eradicated from large areas. The immunization was inexpensive, almost haz-ardless, and provided long-lasting protection.

This contemporary room mixes modern textures with quality wooden furniture for a look that's easy to live with and long lasting. Pale walls make a peaceful backdrop, allowing a classic leather Sofa and a stunning coffee Table to be the main attractions.

The fragrant plantain lily (Hosta plantaginea) grows with lush, ribbed leaves, 10 inches long. In late summer to early autumn, 5-inch-long, white, very fragrant tubular flowers appear on 2-foot stems. At night the petals seem to spread and the perfume of honey fills the air. They are hardy in Zone 5 but may need a light covering on very frosty nights to protect the delicate blossoms. They make* excellent cut flower, lasting for days in a vase. The moon flower has an entry all to itself on page 96.
