• Species roses (but not climbers) and their close hybrids
• japanese roses or Ramanas rose, (R. rugosa) and hybrids
• Burnet rose (R. sp/nos/ss/mo) and hybrids
• The French rose (R. gallicd)
• Hybrid Musks

Before planting, cut off coarse and weak roots. Also shorten damaged and unripe shoots. During the first and second years, cut out a few old shoots in winter
