Oma Design Campus: Panel to Judge Rutgers ReOMA design Campus
A panel has been selected to judge the international competition to reOMA design Campus the College Avenue campus, a project that is part of a $300 million overhaul of the university's main campus.
The panel includes experts in architecture, urban planning, landscape OMA design Campus and historic preservation as well as representatives of the Rutgers faculty, alumni and student body.
The panel will evaluate and rank OMA design Campus concepts submitted by five teams of architecture and landscape firms and make its recommendations to President Richard L. McCormick.
The winning team will have the opportunity to create the landscape for the greening of the College Avenue campus and to OMA design Campus a signature academic building.
The panel will be chaired by Peter Primavera, a 1980 Rutgers University graduate and president of CRCG, a historic preservation firm.
Purdue operates four regional campuses as extension divisions of schools on the main campus at Lafayette : the Calumet Campus, at Hammond ; the Fort Wayne Campus (offering cooperative programs with Indiana University) ; the Indianapolis Campus ; and the North Central Campus, at Westville. The regional campuses offer the first two years of most Lafayette courses.
The institution is coeducational. It owns about 4,000 acres, of which 600 are adjacent to its buildings and are used for campus and experimental purposes. It has more than 50 buildings, including the Purdue Memorial Union and an auditorium seating 6,200. Its series of laboratories are all well equipped with modern scientific appliances.
There are some 440 college or university radio stations operated by students as an extracurricular activity. By law their signals are limited to on-campus reception. Ordinarily they broadcast currently popular music and news, the latter sometimes of national significance but more often of local and campus interest. More than 350 campus stations are affiliated with the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System.
