Outdoor Theaters: During the summer months, concerts given at Ravinia Park in Highland Park, a s urb of Chicago. Ravinia is an outdoor pavi used for productions of various kinds. Tl are a number of theaters that present the j ductions of traveling companies. Also, the Go man Memorial Theatre of the Art Institute gi several fine productions each year.
The city has 10 indoor and 4 outdoor theaters, and 39 parks, including Alum Rock Park, a 687-acre municipal playground six miles to the east, whose mineral springs and scenic formations attract thousands of visitors annually. Excellent water sports facilities are provided by the 10 water conservation reservoirs in the vicinity. The Municipal Rose Garden, with more than 5,000 plants, is one of the finest rose collections in the country.
