Southeastern York State: HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, ha'stingz, is a village in southeastern york state New York state, in Westchester county, on the Hudson River, about 18 miles (29 km) north of the center of New York City. It is principally a residential community but also manufactures copper wire and cables.

Consequently, a dairy belt developed in the United States, and, despite the growth of dairying in the South and West, it still exists from New England through New York, southeastern york state Pennsylvania, and central Maryland, across northeastern Ohio to Michigan, Wisconsin, southeastern york state Minnesota, northern Illinois, and eastern Iowa. Southern Wisconsin has the heaviest population of milk cows per square mile.
