While Green Accents: There's an organic look to this living room. Like nature, it's all about contrasts - natural Textiles in wool, wicker and leather blend with simple woods, while green accents freshen up a colour scheme of mineral hues.
Hot, spicy shades like orange, rich green and deep red love to take over so they work best when used as accents, rather than all over the walls. Here, walls are painted a hessian shade and teamed with a Sofa in matching fabric, creating a background that's pale and neutral. Dark, warm tones are added here by a mahogany Floor and console Table and the really spicy shades are confined to the curtain, a border on the Blind and the cushions -just enough colour to enliven the scheme, but not so much that it dominates.
Through the exhibition and related programming, The Green House will explore developments in sustainability and will provide an informative overview of this dynamic design movement.
This exhibition will take a look at some questions home-owners often ask when considering a green home or product, including: What makes a product green?
How is a green home healthier, safer, and more comfortable? and How much does it cost to 'go green?'
